Castelronda
A medieval festival for the whole family
On the first weekend in June, you can experience the beauty and fascination of the Middle Ages up close for two days! In the most beautiful castles in and around Appiano there are numerous events to see, marvel at and discover. Once again, the Tourist Office Eppan is organizing the Castelronda event on 1st and 2nd June in collaboration with the Bolzano Tourist Office, the South Tyrolean Castle Institute, the Klausen Tourist Office and the Bolzano Castles Foundation.
The event opens on Saturday morning, June 1st at 10 am with a medieval procession of the participating groups and the Knights of Andriano in full armor through the village center of St. Michael | Eppan.
Boymont Castle and Hocheppan Castle
1st and 2nd June 2024
From 10 am to 6 pm
Throughout the weekend, from 10 am to 6 pm, the groups "Die Reisecen" and the "Familia Swevia", "Ordine della Torre", "Lebrac" and the "Knights of Andrian" will lend medieval flair to the castles of Hocheppan and Boymont. True-to-original medieval camps will be set up in which life in the past will be authentically recreated.
The program is complemented by live shows with the court page Paggetto of the Clerici Vagantes and his medieval spectacles and lots of medieval music and dance by Il Passemezzo and the drummers of the Schola Tamburi Storici from Conegliano.
Immerse yourself in a special atmosphere with medieval costumes, typical crafts and fascinating jousting tournaments.
In addition to the castles in Eppan, Runkelstein Castle, the ruins of Rafenstein Castle and the cloister in the Dominican monastery in Bolzano and Trostburg Castle in Waidbruck invite you to marvel at other medieval highlights.
