Young South Tyrolean Classics
Concert with Mörl Prize winners Nadja Meraner and "Oktakis" at the Lanserhaus
KulturKontakt Eppan not only strives to offer high-quality concerts, but also wants to promote young musicians. The Heinrich von Mörl scholarship, established for this purpose, goes this year to the South Tyrolean bassoonist Nadja Meraner, together with the wind octet "Oktakis".
Nadja Meraner started playing the bassoon at the age of six, soon gained stage experience and won several prizes, among others at the Austrian youth music competition "Prima la musica". Currently she attends the "Walther-von-der-Vogelweide" high school in Bolzano, at the same time she studies at the "Claudio Monteverdi" Conservatory in Bolzano with Prof. Claudio Alberti and also works regularly with Sergio Azzolini, one of the most internationally renowned bassoonists.
The ensemble "Oktakis" was founded in 2019 and consists of eight young musicians between 18 and 21 years old. Under the direction of Ricarda Janissen Sullmann, the ensemble has already been able to perform several concerts in South Tyrol and Germany. All members are soloists, as well as in the ensemble multiple prize winners of various competitions and intend to make music their profession.
On the program of the concert evening are works by W. A. Mozart, Vincent D'Indy, Carl Reinecke and Anton Bruckner.
